Have you ever said or felt, "I just need more discipline" when it comes to your money? Or maybe you've tried to budget, and after a couple of weeks, you fall off track, finding yourself spiraling and wondering, "Why can't I just commit to doing this thing?!" Perhaps you're feeling disappointed that despite years in a successful career, you look at your accounts and think, "I feel like I should be further along..."

If that's you, you're not alone. It's natural to think that discipline is the answer or to assume that the problem is you. But I'm here to tell you, it's not.

In many BIPOC families, including my own, there's often a strong emphasis on strict rules and a clear distinction between right and wrong ways of doing things. This upbringing deeply influences how we approach financial discipline as adults. Simply adhering to a budget doesn't always work because it doesn't address our underlying beliefs and behaviors around money.

That's why I take a different approach. I believe achieving your financial goals isn't just about discipline—it's about understanding your unique relationship with money and creating systems that actually work for you. We'll use evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps us uncover and challenge negative money narratives. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) will assist us in managing financial triggers and cultivating awareness around your financial behaviors.

This process isn't about me telling you what to do—it's a collaborative effort. Together, we'll co-create strategies that fit your lifestyle and aspirations. You'll have practical tools and resources, but more importantly, you'll have my support every step of the way.
